Assessment of the KAIMo Extension Request

Thanks for the request! I reviewed the demonstrator and the technical implementation. Here is my assessment:

Status (2026-02)

Variant B (LLARS integration) has been implemented. This text is kept as a historical assessment.

Short answer

Yes, this is feasible - and the idea of reusing LLARS platform logic is the right approach.

Three possible paths

Variant A: Simple solution (approx. 3-5 days)

Instructors create case vignettes using a Word template. A technical staff member then inserts them into the demonstrator.

  • Pro: Fast to implement
  • Con: Technical help required for each new case

Variant B: LLARS integration (approx. 2-3 weeks)

KAIMo is integrated as a module in LLARS. Instructors can create new cases via a web UI without technical knowledge.

  • Pro: Instructors are independent, centralized management
  • Con: Higher development effort

Variant C: With AI support (approx. 3-4 weeks)

Like B, but with AI-generated texts (summaries, consequence assessment, etc.), editable by experts.

  • Pro: Maximum automation
  • Con: Highest effort, AI output must be reviewed

Recommendation

For the study in January, I would recommend Variant A to quickly add 2-3 more vignettes.

In parallel, we can evaluate Variant B (LLARS integration) for sustainable long-term use in teaching.

Next steps

  1. Short alignment meeting to decide on the preferred variant
  2. If Variant A: create a Word template for case vignettes
  3. If Variant B: allocate capacity in the KIA team

Student assistants can help with both technical implementation and documentation/template creation.
